Congratulations to Trish Pokai the winner of the signed framed All Black Jersey Raffle!!!
All caregivers of children enrolled at Shirley Intermediate School can consider themselves to be part of the Parent Teacher Association. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month (during school terms) at 7pm in the school staff room.
At our meetings we get an update on school events from the school principal. In addition to getting a handy insight into the school, the principal often seeks our input into some decision-making.
We meet other parents and caregivers who have a desire to contibute to the life of the school.
Fundraising: We keep our fundraising simple and manageable. In recent years we have secured newsletter sponsors, run major raffles, had a stall at community gala events, operated sausage sizzles and coordinated chocolate sales. This year we have run a raffle, two sausage sizzles at Bunnings, and chocolate stalls at local fairs. It’s been fun!
Members are welcome to help as little or as much as they desire.
The relaxed and welcoming atmosphere at PTA meetings is very “guest-friendly”. Please come along – and don’t worry – you won’t be made secretary and be put in charge of all fund-raising (- not at the first meeting, that is!)
